Good morning and Happy Easter! No matter how you observe this holiday, I think we can all agree it is a welcome and much needed break after a looong winter.

I am the author of Bane of All Things, an epic fantasy that will be released on Nov. 9, 2021 by Inkshares. That just happens to be the Tuesday right after the World Fantasy Convention in Montreal.

I learned yesterday that the organizers of World Fantasy are planning to forge ahead with an in-person event. Fingers crossed for all of us planning to attend that this doesn’t change and the vaccine rollout has been enough of a success by then that we don’t fear to make the trek.

Here’s the book pitch:

With threads of Brian McClellan’s Powder Mage trilogy and Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcherseries, Bane of All Things pits conscience against loyalty and faith against truth as a fugitive soldier and a condemned witch fight their fates as pawns in a war of gods.

I like to describe the setting as one where Howard’s Solomon Kane and Dumas’s musketeers would feel at home—that 17th century vibe where superstition and religious fear can still spur witch hunts, but society stands on the cusp of enlightenment and an industrial revolution.

At present, Bane of All Things is out for copy edit and work has begun with a cover designer (the cover that can be seen now on the Inkshares’ website is just a placeholder).

I look forward to connecting with you and sharing more news in the months to come as Nov. 9 draws near.

Stay safe and keep reading!
